Juan Pérez Floristán, piano

Winner of the First Prize and Audience Prize at the "Arthur Rubinstein" Tel Aviv Piano Competition 2021, First Prize and Audience Prize at the "Paloma O'Shea" Santander Piano Competition 2015, First Prize at the Steinway Competition 2015 in Berlin and awarded the Medal of the City of Seville, Juan Floristán is, at only 28 years old, a reference among the new generations of Spanish and European musicians.

A tireless and young pianist, he rapidly made his debut in some of the world's leading halls, such as the Royal Albert Hall (with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Proms Festival), the Wigmore Hall, the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Tonhalle in Zürich, the Philharmonic Orchestra of St. Petersburg, the Béla Bartók Hall in Budapest, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Schloss Elmau, the National Auditorium in Madrid, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, l'Auditori in Barcelona, the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv... He has also performed at festivals such as the Ruhr Klavier Festival, the Verbier Festival, the Sommets-Musicaux Festival in Gstaad (Switzerland), the Santander Festival, the Granada Festival, the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw...

With a repertoire of more than 30 concertos for piano and orchestra, ranging from Mozart to Crumb, he is a regular guest in the seasons of orchestras such as the RTVE Orchestra, the Spanish National Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Camerata, the Monterey Symphony Orchestra (USA), the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, the Barcelona Orchestra, the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra...

He has collaborated with conductors such as Jesús López Cobos, Juanjo Mena, Pablo González, Ben Gernon, Marc Soustrot, Leopold Hager, Lorenzo Viotti, Josep Vicent or Pedro Halffter.

An important part of his activity is devoted to recitals and chamber music. He has founded the Trio Vibrart, together with the violinist Miguel Colom and the cellist Fernando Arias, and has collaborated with the Casals Quartet, the Fine Arts Quartet, and soloists of the stature of Dietrich Henschel, Kian Soltani, Andrei Ionita, or Pablo Ferrández.

His recording projects include a CD with the BBC Concert Orchestra of London, a solo CD for Naxos (with works by Liszt, Schumann and Beethoven) and two albums with chamber works by Schubert, Shostakovich and Brahms. However, Juan Pérez Floristán's recording debut dates back already to 2012, when he released his first CD, a live recording of his debut concert at the prestigious Ruhr Klavier Festival in Germany. The release of his new CD "AlgoRitmo" is receiving great media repercussion, with continuous praise in specialized magazines.

He has been taught mainly by his mother (María Floristán), Galina Eguiazarova and Eldar Nebolsin. He has also received advice and lessons from international artists such as Luca Chiantore, Eberhardt Feltz, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Daniel Barenboim, Ferenc Rados, Menahem Pressler, Nelson Goerner, Stephen Kovacevich... Nonetheless, Elisabeth Leonskaja deserves a special mention in his training, and since she met him, she proved to be not only an exceptional artist, but also a person committed to the new generations of pianists in a dedicated and totally selfless manner, as she has been an invaluable help both in his career and in his personal and artistic development.

His tours have brought him to Europe, Latin America, United States... having already performed in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Sweden, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Israel, United Arab Emirates...

He has been a piano teacher at the Barenboim Foundation in Seville since 2020, and since 2021 a teacher of Rhythm Applied to Performance at the acting school "La Colmena" in Seville.

In 2020 he becomes part of the team of the program "La Ventana" of La Ser with Carles Francino as a collaborator.

Since 2021, he is an Official Yamaha Artist.
