Pablo Sainz-Villegas Pablo Sainz-Villegas is currently the leading exponent of the Spanish classical guitar in the world; considered by international critics as “the global ambassador of the Spanish guitar” (Billboard). He has performed in more than 40 countries with leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and in the world's most prestigious venues, such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and Carnegie Hall in New York, among others.
Driven by a deep educational vocation and a firm belief in accessible and transformative music, he is the founder of the Asociación Cuerdas en Común and of La Rioja Festival.

Widely regarded as the most virtuosic guitarist of his generation, Pablo Sainz-Villegas has been acclaimed by the international press as the successor to Andrés Segovia and an ambassador of Spanish culture worldwide. He was the first guitar soloist to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York since Maestro Andrés Segovia in 1983, the first guitarist to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 2001, and the first guitarist to appear with the Berlin Philharmonic at the New Year’s Concert since 1983.
Since his debut with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, he has performed in more than 40 countries with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, and the Spanish National Orchestra, and in major venues including the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, among many others.
Among his career highlights are the Princess of Asturias Awards Concert and his participation in the Metropolitan Opera Gala at the Palace of Versailles. Particularly noteworthy are his large-scale performances at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, attended by more than 85,000 people, as well as concerts at Grant Park in Chicago, the iconic Praça do Comércio in Lisbon, and the prestigious Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Pablo Sainz-Villegas has received more than 30 international awards, including the Andrés Segovia Award, the Galardón a las Artes Riojanas, the RNE Ojo Crítico Award, and the Trelles Villademoros Prize awarded by the Royal Corps of Nobility of the Principality of Asturias. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of La Rioja and is a member of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts. He has performed for world leaders such as the Dalai Lama and has given numerous world premieres, including the first work ever written for guitar by John Williams.
A socially committed artist, he is the founder and driving force behind the non-profit organization Strings in Common in the United States, and the creator and artistic director of La Rioja Festival in Spain.
As an exclusive artist with SONY Classical, he has released three albums. His latest project, The Blue Album, was released in June 2023.
Highlights of his 2023/2024 season include a tour of Colombia with the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir, the New Year’s Concert with the Bratislava Metropolitan Orchestra, his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya, appearances at the Dubrovnik Festival and Ljubljana Festival, and his return to Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, among other performances.
Pablo Sainz-Villegas was born in La Rioja (Spain) and has lived in the United States since 2001.
David Antigüedad Mangas is a guitarist from Salamanca with a solid international background, culminating in 2024 with the Konzertexamen diploma in Weimar. Throughout his career, he has been awarded prestigious prizes such as the "José Tomás–Villa de Petrer" and has performed as a soloist with orchestras of the caliber of the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra.
His versatility allows him to excel both in chamber music with the Weimar Guitar Quartet and in teaching at the Balearic Islands Higher Conservatory of Music. In addition to his classical side, he explores genres such as rock and jazz, playing in the gypsy jazz quintet The Swing States.
This artistic curiosity defines him as a dynamic performer who seeks to transcend traditional musical boundaries.
Juan C. Fernández, a native of Logroño, began his musical studies at the age of eight at the Logroño Conservatory, where he studied piano and shared classrooms with his good friend Pablo Sainz-Villegas. He later began studying double bass in San Sebastián and Pamplona, completing his training at the Reina Sofía School of Music, where he studied with the renowned maestro Ludwig Streicher, among others.
He has collaborated with numerous national and international orchestras and chamber ensembles, and has taught as a teacher. He currently plays in the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, of which he has been a member since 2001 and where he served as assistant principal for almost ten years.
Diego "El Negro" Álvarez, a cajón master born in Venezuela. She lived in Spain for 16 years, where she developed her career alongside some of the most prestigious flamenco dance companies, such as those of Joaquín Cortés, Antonio Canales, Sara Baras, Rocío Molina, Alfonso Losa, Estévez & Paños, Nuevo Ballet Español, and Paco Peña. She has also collaborated with flamenco jazz musicians of the caliber of Jorge Pardo, Rubem Dantas, Agustín Carbonell "El Bola," Jerry González Quartet, Diego "El Cigala," Antonio Carmona, and Alain Pérez Quartet.
With more than 12 Latin Grammy nominations, she has worked with artists such as Herb Alpert, Juan Luis Guerra, Nicole Scherzinger, Luis Enrique, Haley Reinhart, Los Amigos Invisibles, Pablo Sáinz-Villegas Quartet, Álvaro Benavides Quartet, Vardan Ovsepian, C4 Trio, Gustavo Dudamel, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic (LA Phil).
He currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he works as a session musician.
