Founded in 2015, the VOCES8 UK Scholars Program is an annual initiative aimed at eight singers with a strong passion for choral and small-ensemble singing. Through specialist coaching delivered by members of VOCES8 and leading figures from the classical music world, the program offers a comprehensive, 360-degree insight into professional musical practice, equipping scholars with the tools they need to thrive in today’s constantly evolving industry.
The program combines personalised training with paid professional opportunities, including the possibility of joining, upon graduation, ensembles within the VOCES8 Foundation, such as the VOCES8 Scholars Ensemble.

BOTANICAL WALK AND CAPARRONES DE ANGUIANO TASTING
DATE: Saturday, May 23.
LOCATION: Monastery of Valvanera
EXPERIENCIE:
-
Botanical Walk, 12:00 PM: After the concert, we will take part in a circular 4-kilometre botanical walk, discovering the vegetation surrounding the Monastery of Valvanera.
This route is not just a hiking trail; it is an immersion into the heart of the Sierra de la Demanda, beginning at the foot of the patron saint of La Rioja. The walk offers spectacular panoramic views of the Valvanera River valley, winding through dense forests of oaks, holm oaks and beech trees. It is an accessible yet deeply transformative itinerary, where the pure mountain air and the imposing silhouette of the monastery set against the peaks create a scene of absolute serenity.
It is undoubtedly one of those experiences where the journey matters as much as the destination.
Limited capacity for the first registered participants. -
Tasting of caparrones de Anguiano and Valvanera liqueur, 1:30 PM: After the walk and once the Mass following the concert has concluded, all attendees will be able to enjoy a tasting of the traditional caparrones de Anguiano and an artisanal liqueur produced by the monks who live at the Monastery.
Notes: The botanical walk and tasting are free for all concert ticket holders but require prior registration, which can be completed during the concert ticket purchase process.
